Historic Area systemic Resilience Index

A self-assessment tool in form of a questionnaire based on 44 qualitative indicators. Aims to assess the current capacities of the Historic Area and identify strengths and weaknesses to better focus future improvement strategies.

The methodology, intended as a friendly and easy to use tool, brings together the indicators previously developed in the project and transforms them into qualitative indicators focused on assessing the current capacities of the Historic Areas to identify strengths and weaknesses and better focus future improvement strategies. It provides a final resilience score that can be visualised and broken down into partial scores for the different types of resilience and capacities. The resilience assessment methodology is not hazard-dependant and the importance of assessing natural or cultural heritage has been considered as a priority, and some indicators are specifically designed to evaluate the characteristics of these types of heritage. Mixed sites comprising both natural and cultural heritage will have to address all the indicators.
